The Florida state senate passed Senate Bill 1524 which repeals the previous legislation which governed the breach of confidential personal information.
Among other items, the new law requires covered entities to take reasonable measures to protect, secure, and dispose of electronic data containing personal information. The law also addresses specific timelines for breach notifications and details situations where the AG must be notified.
